Green Socials Is Launching Its Own Podcast: (re)connect
For a while now, I've been sitting on this idea. A podcast where we get deeper into the stories that matter, collaborate with wonderful humans and organisations around the world, and talk about what it actually looks like to reconnect to a deeper purpose, to nature, to each other, and to ourselves.
The ambition is big, but the approach is simple. Read this article for more information about what (re)connect.
Why now?
The world right now feels heavy and uncertain. Our geopolitical, economic, and ecological realities all seem on the edge. Fear-driven media is everywhere. Our minds are exhausted. We numb ourselves with short-form content, we pull away from our loved ones, we lose touch with any real sense of purpose.
And we honestly have every right to feel that way.
For decades, the only story being told about the future has been an obscure one. Sometimes outright dystopian. The thought of ecological collapse has been so present in our minds that a large portion of people now choose denial over engaging with any vision of what a better future could look like. The fear is so heavy, it makes hope feel naive.
Over half of young adults report experiencing little or no sense of purpose in their daily lives (Harvard, 2024). And yet nearly 9 in 10 of them say purpose is what they're looking for most (Deloitte, 2025). They know what they're looking for. They just haven't been given many places to look.
But here's what I keep coming back to: we haven't been telling the right stories.
The stories that aren't making noise yet
Having worked in the eco-conscious and purpose-led space for five years, I've had the immense honour of working with organisations quietly building towards something better. Environmental conservation projects. Zero-waste product companies. Wellness and plant-based brands. Each of them holding a clear, positive vision of what their industry could become.
These stories don't trend. They're not flashy or algorithmically designed to be addictive. They're grounded in the slower, more courageous work of going against the grain. These organisations are up against entire industries built on profit-first models. They make hard decisions daily, from which products to bring to market to which conservation project will have the most lasting impact.
And they do it anyway.
These are the stories that need to be front and centre of what we're hearing online. Because once you start seeing the meaningful work happening around the world, you can't un-see it. You start to understand that our collective efforts actually add up to something. And you'll want to be part of it.
What (re)connect will be
Each month, we'll have a guest conversation with founders, activists, scientists, and changemakers sharing their vision of a better future. In between, I'll share what's been on my mind: ideas I'm obsessing over, concepts I want your take on, things I'm learning.
A few values we're holding onto as we build this:
Episodes are 30 minutes max. These conversations are a gateway, not a commitment. We want you to discover, then go deeper on your own.
Best enjoyed on a walk. We're audio-first. Put your phone in your pocket, step outside, and let the conversation come to you.
A conversation, not a lecture. My opinions are my own. I'll tell you when I'm wrong.
We don't platform doom. Every episode ends with what's possible, not what's been lost.
And every single episode will close with the same question, asked to every guest: "What does the world you want to live in actually look like?"
We cannot wait to bring this to life. Watch this space for a launch on May 13th.
