The problem Scott came to solve

When Scott first came to Green Socials, his LinkedIn presence was effectively nonexistent. He had real expertise, a compelling mission, and an audience worth reaching, but no followers, no consistent visibility online, and no system for turning that expertise into content that could build trust and generate leads.

The prior marketing companies he'd worked with had failed to move the needle. Audiences weren't growing. Enquiries weren't coming through social. And in a niche like solar, where misinformation is rampant and trust is everything, generic content wasn't going to cut it.

His goals were clear: increase visibility on LinkedIn, attract qualified leads and industry collaborators, and create content that actively busted the myths holding solar adoption back, particularly in the US market.

Why we wanted to work with Scott

Renewable energy is one of the defining industries of the next decade, and one of the most misunderstood. In the US especially, solar faces a constant headwind of political narrative, misinformation, and public confusion. We saw Scott Knows Solar as an opportunity to reverse that: to use social media not as a broadcast tool but as a genuine education platform.

The agrivoltaics angle also mattered to us specifically. Farmers are one of the most financially strained demographics globally, and the work Scott's team is doing — finding ways to layer solar income on top of agricultural land — has real, tangible human impact. That's the kind of story social media should be telling more of. We wanted to be the team helping tell it.

What we built together

The collaboration is still currently running as a done-with-you engagement: Green Socials led the content strategy and copywriting, Scott brought the expertise, and approved every piece. The first four to six months were about deep brand immersion — learning how Scott thinks, how he talks, what he stands for, and how to translate technical solar knowledge into content that engineers and farmers and homeowners could all engage with.

Once that foundation was in place, the results compounded quickly.
